SCHALKE'S 2. Bundesliga clash with Hansa Rostock was temporarily halted due to fan unrest in the stands.

Traditionally a big top-flight club, Schalke now find themselves languishing in the second-tier.

With another relegation unthinkable, the Royal Blues travelled to Rostock aiming to ease concerns.

During the first half of the match chaos erupted in the stands.

Schalke fans housed in a small away section kicked down the glass wall separating them from home supporters.

The balaclava-clad visiting fans then let off fireworks, with riot police getting involved.
