Neighbours legend Joy Chambers-Grundy who played Rosemary Daniels dies aged 76

Neighbours legend Joy Chambers-Grundy, who starred as Rosemary Daniels in the soap, has died aged 76.

In a statement released by her family, it said that the late actress died ‘in her sleep’ while she was ‘surrounded by loved ones’.

‘Joy will be remembered as a Logie award-winning actress, a best-selling author, a poet, a philanthropist and an exceptional businesswoman who worked alongside her husband to build one of the largest independent production companies in the world,’ the statement read.

Chambers-Grundy was married to the late media mogul Reg Grundy, whose company Grundy Television produced TV shows including Neighbours.

The statement confirming the news of her death was shared with Daily Mail Australia.

Born Carolyn Joy in Ipswich, Queensland in 1947, Chambers-Grundy first played Rosemary in 1986.

In addition to her role in Neighbours, Joy also appeared as Rita Merrick in The Restless Years and Dr Robyn Porter in The Young Doctors.
