The youngster was roped into tending a small cannabis farm by dealer Heather, and his involvement gradually led to bigger issues.
He witnessed an accidental killing when gang leader Gerrard 'Sully' Sullivan accidentally shot hospital worker and ex gang member Leon as he tried to protect Ra'Nell from being robbed by gang members.
In season two, Ra'Nell was viciously beaten by Vietnamese shop owner and drug dealer Vincent.
