Jada Pinkett Smith's friends beg her to 'make up her mind' about split
October 18, 2023EXCLUSIVE: Jada Pinkett Smith’s friends beg her to ‘make up her f***ing mind’ and claim she HAS split from Will Smith – but actress insists they are in a ‘beautiful place’
- Last week, Jada said she and Will had been living ‘separate lives’ since 2016
- But days later, she said he was ‘still her man’ and they were ‘in a beautiful place’
- A source claimed her friends have grown frustrated since they’re clearly over
Jada Pinkett Smith’s friends are growing tired of her spreading two different ‘narratives’ that are ‘completely confusing everyone’ – days after the actress admitted that she and Will Smith secretly split seven years prior, but then backtracked and insisted that they are ‘life partners’ and ‘in a beautiful place.’
Jada, 52, shocked the world last week when she made the revelation that she and Will, 55, who wed in 1997, had been living ‘completely separate lives’ since 2016 after she said she became ‘exhausted’ from trying to repair their ‘fractured’ marriage.
But then the actress left everyone scratching their heads when she claimed that she and the Men In Black alum were actually not broken up, but were ‘working hard’ to repair their romance and that he was very much ‘still her man’ in other interviews.
Now a source has told DailyMail.com exclusively that those close to Jada are frustrated with her varying stories – since it’s clear to them that ‘there is no chance she and Will will get back to what they once were.’

They said her pals wanted her to ‘make up her f***ing mind’ and ‘don’t understand why she is walking back on everything she said.’
‘Jada’s friends and those who know her are telling her to make up her f***ing mind when it comes to her story,’ the insider dished.
‘Everyone feels like she is now drafting two narratives and it is completely confusing everyone because in actuality, they are separated and there is no chance of them getting back to the happily married partners that they once were.
‘No one understands why Jada is walking back on everything she said and her PR team is advising her to not do any more interviews.’
DailyMail.com has contacted Jada and Will’s representatives for comment.
Jada first revealed that there was trouble in paradise during a sit-down interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today show last week.
At the time, she said that despite not getting a ‘divorce on paper,’ she and Will – who share two kids, Jaden, 25, and Willow, 22 – had been ‘separated’ since 2016.
‘By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,’ she shared.

She also admitted that she was completely ‘shocked’ when Will referred to her as his ‘wife’ during his now-infamous Oscars outburst – when he slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about her appearance – since she claimed they ‘hadn’t called each other husband and wife in a long time.’
In addition, she surprisingly called the late rapper Tupac Shakur her ‘soulmate’ despite her 19-year marriage to Will Smith to RollingOut – but explained that they never hooked up due to a lack of chemistry.
During a visit to Steven Bartlett’s The Diary Of A CEO podcast, she recalled having ‘power struggles’ with Will and ‘abandoning herself’ after ‘giving and giving’ to him.
The insider dished: ‘Everyone feels like she is now drafting two narratives and it is completely confusing everyone because in actuality, they are separated and there is no chance of them getting back [together].’ Will and Jada are seen at their wedding in 1997
‘Will’s love language was, “I want to work. I want to work hard so that you can have everything in the world that you’d ever want. You’re not going to need for anything,”‘ she explained.
‘My love language was, “I just want you to be here with me. I don’t need all of that stuff, I want to look in your eyes and feel your love and feel your protection here with me”… As couples we get into these power struggles.
‘I felt at that time: “I want to help you do all of those things I’m here to help you with that.” And in return I should get a bit of what I want.
‘It was me just giving and giving and forgiving… not realizing that I was abandoning myself in the hopes that if I just keep pouring into this, if I just keep pouring into him, if I keep pouring into his dream, I’m going to eventually get what I want.’
But days later, Jada had a different story when she appeared on the Today show again.
This time, she insisted that she and Will were ‘working hard’ to fix their relationship and were hoping to get back together, telling Hoda that she ‘totally missed’ the point she was trying to make.
‘There’s no finding another great love, and I think that’s the point. We are in a deep, healing space,’ she added.

‘We are really concentrating on healing the relationship between us. We really have been working hard.
‘That’s the whole thing. We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together. Back to a life partnership.’
She visited the show for a third time on Tuesday, and addressed the rumors once again.
‘We’re in a beautiful place. I will never leave Will’s side,’ she shared. ‘I am not putting it in that box.
‘I work so hard to dismantle all of the romanticism. I just want to love Will as he is. I don’t want to put him in any boxes. And I don’t want to be put in a box.
‘Will and I love each other. So all the love that you guys have seen was real. That’s real. There is no pretending there.
‘Life is messy, and so is marriage. And unfortunately, it’s not anybody’s business what’s going on in the most inner sanctum of our house.’
When asked about her confusing statements during an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, Jada simply stated: ‘That’s still my man. I just call us life partners, but he’s my dude. He’s my right hand.’
Jada has long been open about how she doesn’t believe in ‘conventional marriage,’ and even previously admitted that she felt ‘pressured’ to walk down the aisle with Will.
‘I never wanted to get married. But my mother was like, “You have to get married” – she’s so old-school – and Will wanted a family,’ she once told People.
‘So I said, “Alright, maybe it’s something I should do.” I was under so much pressure being a young actress and pregnant, and I didn’t know what to do.’
And since they tied the knot, rumors of infidelities have continued to rock their romance.
In 2011, reports emerged that claimed Jada had cheated on Will with her Hawthorne costar Marc Anthony, and in 2015, there was speculation that Will had been embroiled in an affair with Margot Robbie while they were filming the movie Focus together – both of which the couple fiercely denied.

In 2013, many began to wonder if they had open marriage after Jada made an interesting comment to Huffington Post.
‘I’ve always told Will, “You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be OK,”‘ she told the outlet.
‘Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man.
‘He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him. Or vice versa.’
She also admitted on Howard Stern’s radio show weeks later that she was ‘realistic’ that her husband was ‘attracted to other women.’
‘I’m not the kind of woman that believes that a man’s not gonna be attracted to other women. It’s just not realistic,’ she shared.
‘And just because your man is attracted to another woman doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you. And it doesn’t mean he’s gonna act on it.’
In August 2020, singer August Alsina made a bombshell claim that he had dated Jada back in 2016, while she was still married to Will.
The musician alleged that Will and Jada did have an open relationship and that the actor even gave him his ‘blessing.’
‘I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times and it not involving romanticism,’ he said.
While Jada’s reps were quick to brand August’s accusations as ‘absolutely not true,’ she confirmed that she and August did become involved romantically during an episode of her show, Red Table Talk, days later.
However, she insisted that she was never unfaithful to Will and that it happened during a time that they were ‘separated.’
‘About four and a half years ago… I started a friendship with August. We actually became really, really good friends,’ she shared.
‘It all started with him just needing some help, you know? Me wanting to help his health, his mental state.

‘I just wanted to feel good; it had been so long since I felt good. And it was really a joy to just help heal someone.’
She explained that she and Will were ‘going through a very difficult time,’ which left her ‘broken’ and ‘in a lot of pain.’
In August 2020, singer August Alsina (seen with Jada in 2017) claimed he had dated Jada back in 2016, while she was still married to Will. She later confirmed the romance
‘We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy,’ Will added.
Jada continued: ‘As time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.’
When asked if she considered it to be a relationship, she added: ‘Yes, it was a relationship, absolutely.’
At the time, however, Will and Jada insisted that they were back together and that she was no longer in contact with August.
During a sit-down with Oprah in 2021, Will claimed that he and Jada were very much ‘still together.’
‘People are trying to put something on it: “Will and Jada – what they doing with other people?” Will and Jada ain’t really doing too much of nothin’,’ he joked.
‘Will and Jada are on a spiritual journey to cleanse the poisonous, unloving parts of our hearts. And we’re doing it together in this lifetime no matter what.
‘Me and Jada, to this day, if we start talking, it’s four hours. It’s four hours if we exchange a sentence.
‘That’s the center of why we’ve been able to sustain [our relationship] and why we are still together, not choking the life out of each other – the ability to work through issues.
‘I’ve never met another person that I connect with in conversation more blissfully and productively than Jada.’
And during a 2022 chat with Gayle King on CBS Sunday Mornings, Jada insisted that there was ‘never’ any ‘infidelity’ in their marriage and that any outside relationships they participated in were only during the breaks from their relationship.
‘We have never surprised one another with anything ever,’ she said.
