I'm a mum-of-two but got shamed by a fellow parent for not 'dressing my age' – you watch, I’ll wear crop tops til I’m 80 | The Sun

A mum who was shamed for wearing crop tops by another parent has insisted she'll be sporting them until she's 80.

Kaz, 37, admitted that she was told at a kids' football game that she should start to "dress her age" because she was wearing a stomach-baring top.

But she insisted she's not going to change her style just because she's getting older, and vowed to still be wearing the skimpy tops when she's an OAP.

"A mum the other day told me I need to start dressing my age.

"I think she was annoyed because I was wearing a crop top at my daughter's football game.

"But I honestly live in crop tops anyways."

Kat went on to ponder: "You know, when you see an old person out in public and they're wearing old people clothes, I always wonder, have they always been wearing those clothes.

"Or is it just like they hit a certain age and they're like, I'm gonna start wearing a moo moo.

"And with our generation, when we get to old people age, are we gonna start wearing old people clothes or will we be wearing crop tops?"

"I’ll wear crop tops until I’m 80 just watch me," she captioned her video.

The majority of people in the comments section voiced their support of Kat, with one writing: "Just dress how you like to dress don’t listen to them!"

"She was just jealous of you babes," another insisted.

"Who would say that? Wear what you're comfortable in," a third commented.

And in an interview with News.com.au, Kat admitted she finds it "mind-blowing" that "people are offended by what I chose to wear".

“I try to be strong and ignore the negative comments but when you see so many come through about how you look it does make you start to feel a little insecure," she added.

There was one dress that Kat had to go bra-less in, and her lack of underwear caused a furore on her social media.

"People were commenting, asking me to 'put a bra on' and to 'have a little respect for myself'," she recalled.

"A few people said they were 'disgusted' because I was a mother and didn’t have a bra on."

But despite the comments that Kat receives on a daily basis, she insisted she's proud to be a role model for young women to be confident in whatever they choose to wear.

"I don’t want my children or the young girls that follow me to feel like they need to change the way that they dress or present themselves based on someone else’s opinions," she said.
