Melania Trump has distanced herself from the public eye of her husband’s campaign, hunkering down in Mar-a-Lago, while weighing in behind the scenes on Donald Trumps’ behavior.
The former first lady and her husband were spotted together for the first time in seven months at a Mar-a-Lago Halloween party, after being notably absent from all of Trump’s court appearances this year.
Melania prefers to remain a mystery to the media, but is an ‘occasional’ presence behind the scenes of the campaign and is not afraid to give her opinion, reported The Washington Post.
On Halloween, Melania paced a few steps ahead of her husband as they walk through the dining room, just days before Trump’s sons Donald Jr. and Eric testified in their father’s fraud trial in New York.
Prior to that, the pair were previously seen at Easter when they lunched together at the Palm Beach club.

Trump has faced several indictments this year, including charges related to hush money payments, classified documents, election interference and ‘operating a criminal enterprise’ to overturn the 2020 election.
Stephanie Grisham, her former chief of staff, told The Washington Post Melania was less upset about her husband trying to buy silence from Stormy Daniel, and more upset that the cheating allegations had publicly embarrassed her.
Despite not showing up at court hearings, the former first lady will stand by her man, former confidants said.
‘No amount of scrutiny, no amount of cheating, lying, stealing, you name it, will change that, ‘ said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania’s former friend and adviser.
‘She has stood by him and will continue to stand by him because she is just like him. It’s a completely transactional marriage for both. She knew exactly who she married and warned him that all his secrets would come out if he ran for president.’
Winston Wolkoff said: ‘She knew exactly what she was getting into. She accepted it and she continues to accept it. People would be surprised by just how much they agree about things.’
Melania has always preferred to kept to herself and stay out of politics. She would skip events because she didn’t feel like it or said her husband did not need her there.
‘She always said she was going to do what she wanted to do,’ said Winston Wolkoff. ‘It was a way to protect her by not letting anyone fully know who she is.’

‘We discussed how her intentional lack of communication with the media would keep everyone guessing and ultimately maintain the narrative of being mysterious and an enigma.’
Since leaving the White House, Melania has done a limited amount of appearances, but has collected $500,000 in fees from the Log Cabin Republicans and an organization called Fix California, reported The New York Times.
She also launched several collections of NFTs, including a handcrafted ornament and its corresponding animated NFT version to help fund scholarships for foster children.
Staffers have said they welcome her presence because Trump behaves better when his wife is around.
She has suggested Trump stop mocking transgender weightlifters and refrain from dancing on stage.
Trump told a crow in Sioux City, Iowa, that his wife told him, ‘Darling, I love you so much but this is not presidential. When you do the weightlifting. This is not presidential. Or when you do the swimming thing, it’s not.’
With Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential election campaign and legal troubles, Melanie has said she is focusing on her son Barron.
When Trump’s Georgia mugshot was released, a source told People magazine, ‘Melania is good at taking care of business at hand which includes her own life, the life of her son, and the lives of her close family members,’
‘She would not stand in a circle of people she knows and openly comment on the lawsuits or the mug shot. She will have her way of dealing with this and anything else publicly when she feels like it.’
‘Another shield,’ Winston Wolkoff said. ‘You can’t say anything bad about a good mother.’
While Barron is finishing high school in the Palm Beach area, Melania has not been seen out much in the neighborhood.
Staffers have said Melania has an ‘occasional’ presence on the campaign, but that Donald Trump listens to her opinion

‘She used to come in, but no one has seen her in years,’ said a Salvatore Ferragamo salesperson.
‘It’s a quiet, safe oasis here. It’s why you see celebrities around. But for some reason not her.’
Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement to The Washington Post: ‘There will always be those who seek relevance and financial gain by inserting themselves into stories.’
‘Mrs. Trump has always been and will always be focused on her family, as it is her number one priority. Any reports claiming to have insight into her life should be read with caution.’
