GAYNOR Lord cops have revealed that a post-mortem on a body discovered in a river search for the mum has found no third-party involvement.

A Home Office post-mortem examination this morning found no signs that anyone else was involved.

Gaynor's family have been informed about the update and are being supported by specialist officers.

Formal identification of the body is due to take place tomorrow, a police spokesperson added.

Chief Superintendent Dave Buckley said: "The post-mortem examination has found no signs that any other parties were involved.

"Although our searches have concluded, officers are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding Gaynor’s disappearance.

Gaynor, 55, vanished on Friday last week after leaving work early – with CCTV released by cops showing the mum rushing through the streets of Norwich.

On the day she vanished her white work shirt, yellow tank top, and jewellery were found spread out in a park – and her olive-coloured coat was found in the Wensum River.

That evening the mum's mobile phone, coat, ring and glasses were found as police continued to scour Wensum Park.

It comes as…

  • Cops found a body while searching for Gaynor Lord
  • Officers confirmed Gaynor didn't meet anyone
  • Her final words to a friend before she vanished were revealed
  • The mum's husband “sounds dreadful and hasn’t slept”
  • Gaynor had made plans with a pal to play tennis in the new year
  •  Specialist underwater divers joined the desperate hunt
  • The divers revealed the 'biggest problem' they faced
  • Detectives linked up with Nicola Bulley cops
  • Cops released the last image of the mum before she vanished

Cops released CCTV of Gaynor earlier this week in the hopes people who saw her would come forward.

In the footage she could be seen smiling as she left work, before she appeared to be rushing along streets.

Speaking today, pal Julie Butcher told of the family's heartache during the search.

She told The Sun Online: “It must be horrendous for them.

“Nobody can imagine how they must be feeling. I feel so, so sorry for them."

Julie, who had been planning a post-Christmas game of tennis with her pal, said: “I’m so upset, but it’s not how I feel, it’s about her family.”
