Yazz rushed to hospital in Hollyoaks as she gets devastating health news
September 19, 2023Yazz Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) is rushed to hospital by distraught mum Misbah (Harvey Virdi) in Hollyoaks this autumn after an upsetting health scare.
The school receptionist and journalist, as viewers know, has been struggling in the wake of her ectopic pregnancy earlier this year, with she and husband Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) finding it difficult to communicate.
After discovering that she was pregnant, Yazz told Tom that she didn’t know how to feel about the possibility of becoming a mum. Tom, however, was thrilled, but there was ultimately heartache on the cards for the pair.
Yazz collapsed in pain and was taken to the hospital, where she was informed that her pregnancy was ectopic, with a doctor explaining that she would be unable to conceive naturally.
Tom was quick to suggest adoption, but Yazz wasn’t in the right headspace to make any such decision as she threw herself into her work, as the issues between she and her husband continued to grow.
Yazz, however, was told by concerned head teacher Carter Shepherd (David Ames) to take some time away from the school as he was worried for her mental health, but such a decision left her heartbroken, as she came to realise that she was using work as a crutch during her difficult time.

Misbah was quick to offer support, encouraging her daughter to open up, but there’s ultimately more emotional scenes on the cards for Yazz, with Hollyoaks’ new trailer revealing that she will be rushed to hospital.
Misbah is left concerned for her daughter for an unknown reason, urging her to come to A & E. Yazz is subsequently heard saying that her body ‘keeps failing’ her.
The question is: why has Yazz been taken to hospital? What is it that’s happened?
And will Misbah be able to support her daughter through another traumatic ordeal?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4, with first look episodes available to stream weekdays on All4.
