Gyles Brandreth told Ben Shephard he was "alarmed" to see him in the studio on Monday morning (September 25).
Ben was making his This Morning debut alongside Holly Willoughby, and while fans were quick to swoon over his stint on the show, it seems Gyles wasn't quite as thrilled. Before the duo went to an ad break, Gyles took the moment to explain to Ben that he was shocked to see him.
He said to Ben and Holly: "I've coped with this. I've had palpitations all morning. When I saw you in the corridor with Ben, did you see how I looked a little bit alarmed? It's because when I appeared on Tipping Point it was the worst moment."

Gyles added: "I've been appearing on television for 55 years and it was the worst experience of my life. I was tipped off within the first three minutes. I could not make it, I couldn't understand."
He then went on to explain the show and added: "If you've not seen this programme it's extraordinary, the coins go to the end of the precipice and then you have to tip them over," as Ben reminded Gyles he should have watched the show before going on.
After the bad stint on Tipping Point, Gyles then added that he's been having "bad dreams about Ben ever since", while Ben laughed and told Gyles he should come in for a rematch.
The look on Gyles' face suggested he had no intention of coming on for another stint on the show.
Gyles appeared on Tipping Point: Lucky Stars in an episode which aired on November 22, 2020 and made multiple blunders during his brief stint.
Ben quizzed Gyles on various general knowledge questions in the hopes of getting him some cash for charity. But it very quickly went downhill after Ben asked Gyles about a legless reptile, which saw him respond: "Fish".
In a similar circumstance, Ben asked Gyles about an aquatic animal which left Gyles completely dumbfounded, even when Ben prompted him and reminded him of an answer he'd given minutes prior.
Unfortunately, Gyles was unable to bring home a big cash prize leaving with just £600 in his bank which went to charity. Now, three years on, it seems the moment absolutely hasn't left Gyles' mind.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
