Crying Ferne McCann storms off after row with fiancé Lorri Haines over birth plan
September 27, 2023Ferne McCann stormed off in tears after a heated row broke out with fiancé Lorri Haines during the first episode of her new show, My Family & Me.
The new ITVBe show, which started on Wednesday, 27 September, follows Ferne's second pregnancy with her daughter, along with life at home with her first child Sunday and fiancé Lorri. Soon into the first episode, an argument broke out between the parents-to-be as they discussed having a home birth.
The former TOWIE star, 33 was keen for her mum, Gill to be present at the birth of her second child after she was there for Sundays. Asking Lorri for his thoughts on this he said: "Giving birth is more intimate than sex and I mean there is a baby coming out of Ferne's vagina.
"I'm there stroking her head trying to make her feel better and Gill is going to be there in the corner. I feel awkward even thinking about it."
Video footage is then shown of Gill supporting Ferne during her birth with her first daughter. Ferne's relationship with Sunday's father, Arthur Collins, broke down after he was found guilty of carrying out an acid attack in 2017. He was jailed for 20 years.
Talking about plans for her second birth, Ferne said: "My mum is superb and she will be there motivating, massaging. Holding my hand, your hand."
Lorri responded: "I don't need anyone to hold my hand."
Upset with how the conversation went, Ferne told him: "I'm the one that is physically going to go through this. And you're like 'oh I might feel a bit awkward if your mum is there'.
"I really don't understand why you are saying this. You're just letting fear… you're almost manifesting this."
Lorri said: "'F*****g hell you're asking how I feel. If anyone ever says anything you don't want it to be, you say you're manifesting".
During the argument, Ferne broke down in tears and told him: "I'm so irritated, I can't even look at you", to which he replied: "Don't ask what I want then, don't ask if you don't like the response."
The conversation was dropped as Ferne stormed out of the living room. The next morning, the couple resolved their differences and decided to work together to find a birthing plan they were both comfortable with.
Ferne gave birth to Finty Francis in July and revealed exclusively to OK! that she got the home birth she wanted but said "it was nothing like how I imagined and it didn’t go to plan."
"The plan went out the window. My life never goes to plan, so you’ve just got to go with it", she confessed.
Before adding: "I filmed it all for the show, which I’m so excited about. I just can’t wait to share that. But she’s perfect and she’s here."
Ferne had previously hinted during an appearance on This Morning that the new series shows every aspect of life, including the ups, downs and bickers. Finty is Lorri's second child as he also has a son, the same age as five-year-old Sunday, with his ex-partner.
