Coleen Rooney tearful in explosive new trailer for Wagatha Christie documentary
October 13, 2023Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story official trailer
Coleen Rooney is seen in tears as she discusses the Wagatha Christie case in the dramatic trailer for her upcoming documentary.
The three-part series about the high-profile trial that captured the public’s imagination will premiere on Disney+ next Wednesday (October 18).
It gives the inside story on what actually happened after Coleen was sued for libel by fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, who denied that she was the source leaking stories about the Rooney family to the press.
The 37-year-old mum of four publicly named 41-year-old Rebekah as the person who had sold the stories following a “sting”.
“I needed evidence, I had to set a trap, Coleen says in the trailer before acknowledging she “never imagined being in a legal battle”.
In the trailer she shares: “I had a message off Rebekah saying what is this and I said you know what it is. It was constantly on my mind.”

For his part husband Wayne looks somewhat incredulous as he laughs: “I just thought what is she doing here.”
Although the case was widely reported and spawned both a Channel 4 docu-drama and a successful West End Production this is the first time that Coleen has spoken publicly about what happened in a television series.
She is visibly upset and still angry at times in the trailer and the toll of the trial is obvious.
At one point she tearfully reveals her father said: “You’re just not you anymore.”
Rebekah lost the court case in July and was hit with a massive legal bill when Coleen’s Instagram post, which said she was the source of the stories was found to be “substantially true” by a judge.
