Celebrations fans say ‘Christmas is ruined’ as advent calendar ‘disappoints’
December 4, 2023Many of us are excited to open the first door of our advent calendars on December 1.
However, some chocolate fans who bought the Celebrations offering said they were left 'disappointed' by their first treat in the calendar – branding it a 'sick joke', reports The Mirror.
And why is that may you ask? Well it's all because they got the controversial Bounty sweet. The coconut-flavoured treat is known to divide many, with people often loving or hating it.

And it seems many weren't impressed they got it first in their calendar. A lot of people took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their disappointment with the situation.
One wrote: "The first choc in the Celebrations advent calendar was a Bounty @UKCelebrations. What on Earth." While fumed: "A Bounty as day one in the celebrations advent calendar are you kidding me?"
Someone else raged: "Celebrations advent calendar day one is a f***ing Bounty. Some kind of sick joke by Mars Wrigley", as a fourth said : "Bold move putting a Bounty in day one of the Celebrations advent calendar. Best chocolate ever for me but there'll be some unhappy folks around today proclaiming that Christmas has been ruined."
However, one X user said they'd noticed that this seemed to be a pattern for the Celebrations advent calendar, with one sharing: "Prepare yourself for the angry tweets tomorrow morning about people being annoyed and surprised the first chocolate in their Celebrations advent calendar being a Bounty despite the fact it's always behind the first door every year just to troll people."

Another also predicted the move, as they wrote before the big day: "As December 1 approaches, I just want to remind you all that there are worse things in life than finding a Bounty in your Celebrations advent calendar."
Daily Star contacted Mars – the maker of Celebrations – for comment.
The move comes as Bounty was banned from Celebrations tubs last Christmas after 'demands' for them to be removed. However, this year, Mars launched tubs filled with just Bounty alone so fans of the sweet could get their fix.
