I love the panelled wall look but couldn't be bothered to spend ages on it so used £8 IKEA frames to get the same effect | The Sun

IT'S arguably the most popular home trend of the year.

And while there are more and more ways to achieve the panelled look in your house, they are often time-consuming, and pricey.






But one woman has come up with a way to get the look in minutes, and for a fraction of the cost.

The homeowner, who "who loves doing doable DIY, home decor & hacks", took to her TikTok page to reveal how she'd used four IKEA frames, costing £8 each, to achieve the final look.

"I used picture frames to do instant wall panelling, using these IKEA picture frames – lightweight and timber," she began.

While the front of the frame is flat, the back of it "has the right detail".

So she flipped each frame over and removed all the backing fixtures.

Once she'd measured exactly where she wanted them to go, she primed the frames, before applying No More Nails interior and exterior adhesive.

Then she simply applied the frame to the wall, sticking it into place.

Once she'd used her spirit measure to check the frames were all straight and where she wanted them to be, she covered the whole lot in white paint.

"Using budget friendly picture frames from @IKEA I had instant wall panels," she captioned her video.

And people wasted no time in praising her for the ingenious hack in the comments section.

"Brilliant absolutely love it!" one wrote.

"That's so clever and put up in half the time," another said.

"After just spending days doing my wall i wish id know about this hack a week ago," a third added.

While someone else praised: "Absolutely brilliant brain wave, it’s great!"

"Could you tell me the name/ size of these frames please?" another asked.

"You're a genius…looks amazing!"

To which the woman replied: "Yes they're fiskbo 50×70".

"Love it, great idea the hall looks splendid," someone else commented.

As another said: "So clever! and so effective! love it."

"Turned out really good!" someone else wrote.
