I’m A Celeb’s Nigel Farage’s girlfriend rushed to hospital after surfing accident in Australia
December 9, 2023Nigel Farage's girlfriend Laure Ferrari has injured herself in a surfing accident.
The 44 year old, who has been dating the former right-wing politician for six years, is supporting him while he competes in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in Australia.
A friend told The Sun: “Laure ended up having an accident while surfing. It was nothing serious but she headed to hospital to get her right arm checked over.
“She is going to be in a sling for a week or two but she’s in good spirits and is having a great time in Australia.”
Laure was seen chatting to cast members from this year's series including Frankie Dettori at the Marriott Hotel in Surfer's Paradise while wearing the cast.
Laure has been out in Australia since the end of last week watching Nigel on the show, who is now in the semi-final with Josie Gibson, Tony Bellew and Sam Thompson.
She's been seen enjoying the sunshine during the week, going swimming and having time on the beach.
Every day, Nigel's daughter Isabelle has been travelling to camp at 5.30am with the rest of the friends and family at the hotel to support him in case he is voted out.
Laure has yet to make the journey but could head down to camp for the last two days of the show, greeting her partner when he leaves the show.
The 44 year old met Nigel in 2007 when she was 28 and working in Strasbourg, France, as a waitress. She previously told the Sun: “I’m not a secret. I’m here, I do exist and I do support Nigel. It’s very important for me to say that.”
Barbara Farage, his mother, has also told the publication: “She’s lovely. She’s a chic, French lady, who is good for him.
“She loves him to bits. She pays him attention and always wants to be by his side.”
It comes after fans were left shocked with the overall vote leading to the latest campmate's departure on Friday, taking to social media to share their outrage.
One viewer tweeted: "Absolutely gutted Marvin's been voted out, really wanted to see him do the celebrity cyclone, so proud of you Marvin, you are my king of the jungle."
Another claimed that it should have been Nigel who left. "Should have been Tony Sam Marvin & Nick x," said a social media user.
While he may have missed out on the final, Marvin was reunited with his wife Rochelle, who he had been missing during his time in the jungle – as the pair shared a kiss at the end of the show's famous bridge.
