Dancing On Ice pro shares surprising connection to Meghan Markle after audition

Colin Grafton revealed he was not aware of Meghan Markle when he auditioned for a role on Suits.
From 2011 to 2017, she played her best-known role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama series.
The Dancing On Ice skater opened up about his “random” audition process when his friend urged him to be an extra on the programme but he was soon promoted and given a small role.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the American-born star said: “It was actually really, really random. I was on holiday with one of my best friends, who is also an actress, and she said ‘Well, I’m going to be on a different set all day [for Suits]. If you would like to be like a background actor for the day, just to pass the time.’
“So I said yes but I had never seen the show.”

Colin continued: “I actually ended up using the restroom and bumped into one of the lead actors, who was playing Harvey at the time. He is also an American, and he said, ‘Oh man you need to be in the main scene.’
“I ended up getting promoted from being an extra to one of the main scenes for a few episodes. It was purely chance.”
The professional skater admitted that while he never got the chance to meet the Duchess of Sussex he recalled fans of the royal lining up to meet her on set.
“[Meghan] wasn’t in any of the scenes that I was in,” Colin said. “I wasn’t really aware of who she was at the time because this was right before all of her ties to the UK.

“I do remember that she had fans waiting outside for her and stuff like that. But I never had the pleasure of meeting Meghan.”
Meanwhile, the pro-skater has joined the Alzheimer’s Society for their Memory Walk which brings together people who have been personally affected by dementia, those who want to walk to remember a loved one, and people looking to raise money for charity.
There are 24 Memory Walks taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland on September 30.
Speaking about the event, Colin shared: “I’m so thrilled to be a part of such an incredible society and foundation because I have a personal connection.
“My grandfather passed away from the disease and so obviously it greatly impacted my family. It’s something that I witnessed firsthand and I’m very passionate about it.
“So to be given an opportunity to be a part of such an incredible organisation it’s something I’m thrilled about.”
