Moment farmer clashes with hunt saboteurs as he tells them they ‘don’t know anything about the country’ and demands activists get off his land during heated exchange

This is the moment a farmer confronted self-styled hunt saboteurs who were trespassing on his land whilst ‘trying to disrupt a hunt.’

Footage shows the farmer clash with activists who ‘don’t know anything about the country’ as he tried to kick them off his land in Kent last Wednesday.

The video, shared by the West Kent Hunt Sabs, shows two men with their faces covered on a mini tractor, with another in a waxed jacket walking alongside.

And the waxed jacket-clad man tells the trespassers to ‘get off my property’ and that they do not understand how the countryside works.

The Kent Hounds is a pack of hounds formed by the The East Kent, Ashford Valley, West Street and Tickham hunts which have existed for more than 200 years.

The group is based in the village of Elham, south of the cathedral city of Canterbury. They follow the pack to ensure no foxes are worried or harmed.

The man can be heard shouting: ‘Go on, off my property. Off my property now’

As the three men shepherd the saboteur off the land, an altercation then occurs

The man then appears to lift his arms at her and her phone falls to the floor

As the three men shepherd the activists off the land, an altercation then occurs.

The female saboteur can he heard telling them she is walking to a gate to exit the field and the farmer then says she is going the wrong way.

‘I’m walking, I’m walking,’ she says before the man then appears to lift his arms at her and her phone falls to the floor.

The sab, who did not want to be identified, claims that she was filming from some distance and had not intended to provoke an aggressive response from her trespassing.

The incident happened at Bethersden, near Ashford, last Wednesday and police said in a statement: ‘Kent Police attended following a report of a disturbance on land near Bull Hill, Bethersden, on the afternoon on Wednesday 15 November 2023.

‘Officers spoke to those present and allegations and a counter-allegation of assault were made.

‘An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.’
