THIS Morning fans were left baffled this morning as Holly Willoughby was absent from the show.

Instead Josie Gibson was joined on the sofa by Alison Hammond, who joked that she was jealous seeing Holly and Josie together.

Holly, 42, has typically always taken Fridays off from the show, but not usually a Thursday as well.

Josie kicked off the show saying: “Look who’s joined me. It’s only the one and only Alison Hammond!”

Alison replied: “Oh, Josie! I hope you don’t mind, I got a bit jealous. I saw you and Holly and you were talking about being blonde and I thought ‘I’m going to shake this up a bit. I’m getting in there’.

“Is that ok? You don’t mind?”

“No, of course not, I love you!” Josie replied, as Alison told her: “I love you too.”

Those watching at home took to Twitter to comment on it as they noticed Holly hadn’t announced she would be missing during Wednesday’s show.

One person wrote: “#ThisMorning princess Holly missing again? It is about time ITV made her work for her £1million. 5 days a week 48 weeks a year like the rest of us.”

A second said: “Is #HollyWilloughby off on her “hols” again ? Well to be fair she has worked a 4 day week for at least 3 weeks. Time to get rid of her permanently guys.”

Holly recently returned to the show after a two month summer holiday.

Since Phillip Schofield left This Morning , Holly has hosted the daytime TV show alongside a rotating roster of ITV stars including Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Craig Doyle.

She was also recently joined by Ben Shephard, who has been tipped to replace Phil full time.

Prior to Phil's exit, the Friday show was hosted by Alison and Dermot.
