AN Antiques Roadshow guest was left gobsmacked after discovering the eye-watering value of a stained glass window she saved from a rubbish skip.

Antiques expert Ronnie Archer Morgan was blown away by the colourful, 'glorious' and 'remarkable' item.

Sunday night's episode of the BBC's Antiques Roadshow was fronted by Fiona Bruce at Swanage Pier in Dorset this week.

It attracted thousands of hopefuls looking to find out more information and the value of their treasured possessions.

During the episode, a woman brought along a colourful item she had saved from a skip, only to discover it was worth almost £2,000.

The guest brought in a unique stained glass window with a beautiful illustration of clouds and trees with a vibrant yellow background.

Expert Ronnie revealed to the guest that the stunning glass window had been made from tiny beads in Czechoslovakia around 1900.

He stated: "The more I talk about this, the higher the value goes up in my head. It's so remarkable."

She then explained to Ronnie that after discovering it, she managed to 'incorporate it' into her old house, but after moving, she realised she had no more space for the beloved item.

She added: "In our previous house, we actually managed to incorporate it into the house when we did some alterations.

"And then when we moved down to Swanwick, I said I'm not leaving that behind."

"So we took it out, and put it in a plain window where it had been."

The host then revealed the value of the colourful window and said: "It has value between £1,200 and £1,700.

"Think someone would give that for it. I think it's remarkable."

The stunned guest replied: "I never even thought it was valuable, particularly. I just thought it was lovely."

In a separate episode, another guest brought in her mother's glamorous ring to fine jewellery specialist Joanna Hardy, who delivered the utterly astounding news of its £20,000 value.

Antiques Roadshow is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
