GMB viewers ‘switch off’ as they share same complaint about Ed Balls

December 4, 2023

Good Morning Britain viewers slammed Ed Balls as he returned to the ITV show on Monday (December 4).

The presenter, 56, joined forces with Susanna Reid to share the top headlines with viewers. But they were less than pleased with his appearance, with several demanding his axe from the programme.

Venting their frustrations on X, formerly known as Twitter, one fumed: "Can there be two worst cringeworthy presenters on TV than Madeley & Ed Balls surely nobody can watch them without thinking what two self gratifying people whatever the news!!"

Another said: "Ed Balls is responsible for so many people abandoning #gmb and switching to the BBC. Utterly awful, amateurish, unfunny, zero charm. Who the fuck employed (and continues to employ) him???"

A third agreed: "How embarrassing for #gmb to annoy the British public first thing in the morning No idea how ED is even presenting." Calling out ITV bosses, someone else added: "Who at #gmb thought it was a good idea to employ Ed Balls as a ‘presenter?’."

A fifth wrote: "Just f**k Ed balls off! He’s bringing more embarrassment to your programme – if that’s possible! Echoing this, another chipped in: "Ed is really making this show hard to watch this morning."

Another weighed in: "@GMB I keep turning over to bbc1 because of Ed Balls being cringey. Please get rid." However, not all viewers shared the same opinions as others took to social media to compliment the former politician.

One exclaimed: "Can i just say, i love Ed Balls!" Another added: "Who knew Ed Balls played the piano so beautifully lovely hearing that whilst I drink my morning cuppa #Gmb."

While a third called for the star to be made permanent host, writing: "Ed Balls should be on GMB EVERY week, multi-talented and pleasant."
