DAN Walker and Helen Skelton have issued a desperate plea to fans as their travel show hangs in the balance.

Channel 5 News presenter Dan, 46, teamed up with Strictly star Helen, 40 for the new series.

It saw the presenters – who are close pals – head off as they explored Britain's mountains.

But their fourth and final episode aired on Tuesday night as they explored the North Pennines.

Viewers watched as they tried the high-adrenaline activity Hydrospeeding.

Following the episode, Dan and Helen have taken to social media as the fate of the beloved show hangs in the balance.

They pleaded with viewers to contact Channel 5 directly with good feedback to convince them to commission a second instalment.

Writing on Instagram, the duo said: "Your comments have really been so kind and encouraging throughout the series and I have sent lots of them through to the teams at WAG & Channel 5.

"We’d love to make a second series somewhere else so make sure you let Channel 5 know if you want another one [email protected].

"Thanks to everyone who we spoke to & met along the way, thanks to the wonderful team who worked on it and thank you for watching."

Fans have flooded their comments as they echoed their wishes and demanded a second series.

One said: "Loved this series, you and Helen compliment each other so well. You have to be on again."

A second wrote: "Thank you again to everyone involved in bringing us such a joyous watch. Please, please, please come back with another series."

"A wonderful and enjoyable programme to watch. Loved all the challenges and adventures you both did. Hope they’ll be another series at some point," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "Loved the friendship & the laughs you had along the way! Please do another series! It was amazing to watch!"
