Big Brother live as 16 contestants enter the brand new ITV two-storey house
October 8, 2023The Big Brother house has officially opened it's doors once again after a five-year hiatus.
A group of civilians will forget about their normal lives as they move into the new property for the revamped series of the reality show. Over the next few weeks, the housemates will become part of the social experiment which made the likes of Alison Hammond, Brian Dowling and Kate Lawler household names.
AJ Odudu and Will Best have followed in the footsteps of Davina McCall, Brian Dowling and Emma Willis and are the first-ever duo to present the programme. Speaking about taking on the iconic role, AJ said: "The pressure is on, it's a big show, it's everyone's baby. We all grew up watching it but then there's a whole new audience that we want to bring along on the ride as well.

"And also it's had previous presenters who both Will and I both love, adore and respect, they're the nation's sweethearts, and we want to do everyone proud." Will added: "You know, I think doing any show is big, obviously there's going to be nerves attached, there's pressure attached. But I think one of the best things about doing this, is one, I'm just excited that Big Brother is coming back first of all.
"I've been a massive fan of the show over the years, so for the show to come back, for something you love to come back and then to actually get a chance to work on it, that immediately overrides anything else."
Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm

Fans left fuming as bosses axe ‘best part of show’
It was reported earlier this week that Big Brother bosses have scrapped the smoking area.
According to sources, the show has axed the iconic smoking area. Past series included a smoking area in the garden – where a lot of the drama and gossip went down. But this year’s housemates instead have a closed-off room to smoke with no cameras, bar a microphone.
Hearing the news, fans were fuming over the change. Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person penned: “The fact that Big Brother won’t have a smoking area is a crime against humanity.”
Someone else added: “The smoking area was the best part of Big Brother. Everyone would sit there at night and talk pure s***e for hours.”
A third chimed in and proclaimed: “Not sure this is a good idea as the smoking area is where we got most of the gossip.” Another fan quipped: “Gutted won’t be watching now.”

Daily Star takes sneak peak around the new house
Daily Star reporter Dan Laurie took a tour around the new house just hours before the new housemates moved in.
There is a mixture of double and single beds in the only bedroom which will no doubt lead to tense arguments between the group.
Dan was gobsmacked to learn how close the beds are to each other and it seemed like the perfect recipe for broken sleep, which means plenty of rows between cranky cast mates. If the housemates are hoping to get jiggy or have an issue with people snoring, they are in for a shock.
The garden is colourful like the rest of the house and featuees a huge organe sofa where the housemates can catch up with each other on the latest gossip.
No doubt the latest batch of housemates will brave the October weather and get their kit off to have some fun in the hot tub.
The jacuzzi has been the centre of plenty of steamy Big Brother moments over the years but how will the new cast members feel about stripping off this time around?

Huge change to eviction nights
New Big Brother hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best have insisted they will be kinder to contestants when the iconic reality series returns on ITV2.
Five years since the last series of Big Brother, fans will see AJ and Will fronting the show. But they want to be kinder to axed contestants when grilling them about their time in the house.
The pair opened up about how they intend to act following a greater. However, as it stands, the evicted housemates will still have to face the audience, which famously booed contestants who weren't liked.
AJ said: "I do feel a responsibility towards the housemates' mental health, for sure. They may come out to a baying audience on eviction night, but I think it's up to me and Will to put our arm round them and give them an opportunity to share their side of the story.
"We're still going to ask the important questions that viewers want to know, and I still want the housemates to spill the tea. But we're not going to be mean in any way; I am very mindful of that."
