Strictly Come Dancing fans predict that Giovanni Pernice will return to the ballroom floor next year in a major new role following his performance last Saturday.

Viewers reckon he could step into the shoes of a judge.

The BBC star was forced to pull out of this competition this year due to his celebrity dance partner Amanda Abbington quitting the show. The actress initially withdrew from one of the live shows due to “medical reasons”.

It was later announced that she would be leaving the show altogether due to “personal reasons”.

Despite this, Giovanni has still been seen week after week supporting his fellow professional dancers as well as their celebrity partners.

The Sicilian-born dancer has also participated in the well as the pre-recorded group numbers.

During the quarter-final show last week, the talented group of dancers performed an incredible version of A Chorus Line.

They paid tribute to the West End and Broadway musical as the dancers were seen auditioning for the show.

Giovanni was seen acting as a tough choreographer before Karen Hauer took the lead as the wannabe star.

The sparkly top hats appeared alongside the glitz and glamour for a Bob Fosse-style segment to round off the mash-up.

Fans took to social media to express their views on the professional dancers performance.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, they suggested Giovanni could have been putting himself forward for a role on the judging panel.

One viewer questioned: “Giovanni to replace Anton as judge when? #Strictly.”

Another penned: “If Giovanni Pernice became Strictly judge then what? #strictly.”

A third joked: “Giovanni can shout at me like that any time #Strictly.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday to BBC One.

The stars battling it out with their dance partners in the semi-finals are Bobbie Brazier, Ellie Leach and Layton Williams.

It’s a fight between the actors and actresses as they hope to win a chance to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
