Ex-Arsenal ace Serge Gnabry is being linked with a shock return to the Premier League amid uncertainty over his Bayern Munich future.
Gnabry, 28, left the Gunners in 2016 after five years at the Emirates, and an unsuccessful loan at West Brom, for Werder Bremen before joining Bayern Munich in 2017.
According to Nacional, United are lining up a move for the winger ahead of the January transfer window.
It comes amid the ongoing drama surrounding the out-of-favour Jadon Sancho and Antony being placed on leave.

Set the Tone
Arsenal have identified a backup option for Brentford star Ivan Toney as they are set to be priced out by his club's demands.
The Gunners are said to be interested in signing Toney in the January transfer window once he returns from his FA ban for betting breaches.
But the North Londoners would have to fork out around £80million if they were to get the striker, who could prove to be too expensive.
According to The Times, Arsenal are considering a move for Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez if they can’t get the England international.

How medicals work
Former Arsenal physio Gary Lewin revealed how the Gunners once used information from a medical to sell a player for a huge transfer fee just 18 months before he was forced to retire through injury.
A medical is to decide is someone fit to sign or not. A medical is a risk assessment: how many games you've played in the last three years, significant injuries you've had in the last three years.
What tends to happen, some clubs use a red, green, amber system. We use a five point grade system where a grade five is a very, very high risk. We then give that back to the club. It's not a yes or no.
We signed a player for about £5million – a well-known international player. He had a cruciate injury 18 months before we signed him.
We did a full medical on him and we saw an orthopaedic surgeon and the surgeon said 'He's got early signs of degeneration of the knee that he's had surgery on, you will get three or four years out of him at this level, then that knee will start to degenerate'.
So we went back to the board, we graded that risk, spoke to the manager, and he said 'We're going to sign him, that's great information to have, I will use that in the future'.
I thought nothing of it. Two-and-a-half years later, we'd won a few trophies and he was a big part of that. We then sold him to another European club for £25m. 18 months after that he retired.

Declan Rice fitness boost
Arsenal superstar Declan Rice is expected to be fit for Saturday's Premier League clash at Bournemouth
Rice, who cost the Gunners a record £105million fee during the summer transfer window, was taken off with a back problem during Sunday's 2-2 home draw with Tottenham.
But the North Londoners' medics have confirmed the midfielder is not seriously injured.

Bukayo Saka out
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka will miss tonight's Carabao Cup tie at Brentford.
Saka could also be out of Saturday's league game at Bournemouth due to a foot injury.
The 22-year-old hobbled off the pitch during Sunday's 2-2 draw with rivals Tottenham.
He was limping quite badly after the match.
We had to get him off the field, which is never a good sign.

The midfielder suffered a back spasm and is a doubt for the weekend.

Rice was substituted at half-time during the North London derby on Sunday after feeling discomfort in his back.
And while that pain meant that he struggled to walk by the evening, scans have shown that the injury is not thought to be too serious and he will be in contention to play against Bournemouth this weekend.

Victor Osimhen looks likely to leave Napoli after the club's official TikTok posted two insulting videos about the striker yesterday.
He has removed all photos of him in a Napoli shirt from his Instagram.
And back in 2020, he revealed that he had spoken with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger about joining the Gunners after he starred in the Under-17 World Cup.
I spoke with Arsene Wenger after the tournament (Under-17 World Cup) ended and he wanted me to come to Arsenal.
I had a lot of options. Barcelona; Inter Milan; Atletico Madrid; Juventus and the rest. Arsenal was a good option but it wasn’t the best at the time. I wanted to start playing as soon as I turned 18.
I wanted to go to a place where I had time to invest in my game and improve physically. Wolfsburg showed me that possibility.
Of course, one day I’d like to play for a big club in England… my priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me.
Albert Sambi Lokonga confirms injury
Albert Sambi Lokonga has confirmed that he will be out of action for a "couple of months" due to injury.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Luton Town.
While he did not specify on what the injury was, he had this to say: "I thought it was my time to enjoy playing this beautiful game called football and work hard helping my teammates to reach our goal as a team…

Arsenal are back in action today – this time in the Carabao Cup.
They will take on Brentford at the G Tech Community stadium tonight at 19:45.
Arsenal have a mixed record at the G Tech since Brentford's return to the Premier League.
They infamously lost there 2-0 on the opening day of the 2021-22 season but last season swept the Bees away with a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

James Maddison criticism
Arsenal hero Kevin Campbell hit back at Tottenham star James Maddison after his comments regarding Bukayo Saka copying his celebration on Sunday's North London Derby.
Maddison said: "Me and Bukayo had a bit of banter and a bit of trash talking on international duty.
"And I got told he did the darts celebration – he must have still been doing it when I turned him for the first goal I think, so I'll have a little word with him in there!"
What’s wrong with it? And by the way, James Maddison, I did the darts celebration years ago, so I don’t want James Maddison to think he’s the first one to do a darts celebration.

Gabriel Martinelli injury boost
Arsenal ace Gabriel Martinelli could be back in action as early as next month.
In fact, Martinelli may return on October 8 for the crucial Premier League against Manchester City at the Emirates.
