Arsenal vs Wolves Betting Preview: Odds and Predictions | The SunMay 28, 2023
ARSENAL’s strong season has suffered a miserable end – and it may get worse against Wolves on the final day.

Arsenal vs Wolves betting preview
There have been some bizarre results on the final day of Premier League seasons past and another should not be ruled out here, such as:
- 2008: Middlesbrough 8-1 Manchester City
- 2017: Hull 1-7 Tottenham
- 2019: Manchester United 0-2 Cardiff
These two sides have very little to play for. Arsenal will finish second – a fine achievement based on pre-season expectations; perhaps not so impressive given they were eight points clear as recently as April 7.
Meanwhile, Wolves have secured another season in the top flight thanks to the efforts of Julen Lopetegui. Safety was far from certain when the Spanish manager took over just before Christmas.

Lopetegui’s men have won four of their last eight and while they’ve been poor on their travels, they’ve enjoyed previous trips to the Emirates and this year they will arrive to find a bunch of disheartened home players, undoubtedly still wondering how it was all gone so wrong over the past six weeks.
Arsenal have won just two of their last eight and have lost the last two without scoring.
Attacking strength has been notable at home this season and if that is again missing here, Wolves certainly have a chance. Arguably more of a chance than the odds suggest.
Bournemouth, Leicester and Southampton have all scored 2+ goals on this ground this season and so Wolves looks tempting given the sides’ current form.

Wolves to win
Arsenal season has fizzled out and it really wouldn’t be a huge surprise were they to finish with a defeat here.
The one-time title favourites blew up in the race and have now won just two of their last eight. Last weekend’s defeat at Nottingham Forest brought a performance which smacked of players desperate for the campaign to end.
Unless there’s a change of attitude here – and I’m not sure why there should be – Wolves can make a mockery of odds as big as 7/1.
Back Wolves to win at 7/1 at Spreadex
Over 4.5 goals
This has landed in eight of Arsenal’s 18 home games so far this season, including six of nine against the bottom half. The three outliers have all seen four goals.
While this could land with a Wolves win (tipped above), it’s admittedly more likely if Arsenal revert to type, find their early-season form and deliver goals as they did for most of the season.
Back over 4.5 goals at 5/2 at bet365
Both teams to score
OK, Wolves are far from free-scoring but the final day often results in open games when nothing is at stake, as is the case here.
Last season eight of the 10 last-day matches saw both teams find the net. Indeed, there were 37 goals across the 10 games with over 4.5 in four of them.
This bet has landed in 14 of 18 at the Emirates this season and looks likely to do so again.
Back both teams to score at 7/10 at William Hill
