An online date ghosted me, so I contacted his boss to get revenge | The Sun
October 9, 2023DEAR DEIDRE: I GOT my revenge on someone who ghosted me – by emailing his employer and telling him a few truths.
Guys constantly let me down. I met this man through Grindr. He kept telling me how wonderful I was and we should meet.
I arranged to catch a train to visit him. The day before, he texted saying his grandmother had died. I was annoyed but I understood.
We tried again a month later but he cancelled again, saying he had Covid.
I’m a guy of 32 and he’s 37. I live with mild autism and I felt he was taking me for a mug, so I emailed the managing director where he works and told him his employee was nasty and unreliable.
He’s just called me, swearing down the phone at me saying I’d caused him acute embarrassment. But he’s really messed me around and I want him to learn.

DEIDRE SAYS: Contacting his boss was below the belt. His private life has no bearing on whether he can do his job. I’m not surprised he was upset at your behaviour.
Perhaps he isn’t out yet, or maybe he was nervous. His excuses could even have been genuine.
Online dating can get really intense so if it’s getting you down, take a proper break from it while you recalibrate.
When you’re ready to date again, try to manage your expectations and resist punishing others if you are let down.
