{"id":144335,"date":"2023-12-01T13:16:23","date_gmt":"2023-12-01T13:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theprojectsworld.com\/?p=144335"},"modified":"2023-12-01T13:16:23","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T13:16:23","slug":"everton-confirm-appeal-with-the-premier-league-after-10-pt-deduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theprojectsworld.com\/sport\/everton-confirm-appeal-with-the-premier-league-after-10-pt-deduction\/","title":{"rendered":"Everton confirm appeal with the Premier League after 10-pt deduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Everton confirm they have lodged an official appeal with the Premier League against their 10-point deduction which plunged them to second-bottom in the table for breaking rules<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Toffees will see Appeal Board appointed to hear the case after deadline met<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Sean Dyche said that he was unaware of the possibility of additional charges\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>We expected perfection from VAR &#8211; we haven&#8217;t got it: Listen to It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Everton have confirmed that they have lodged its appeal against the 10-point deduction the club was handed by the Premier League.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Toffees shared that they had made their appeal with the Chair of the Premier League&#8217;s Judicial Panel on Friday, which will now lead to the appointment of an Appeal Board to hear the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sean Dyche&#8217;s side were handed the jaw-dropping penalty after being found guilty by the English top flight&#8217;s governing body of breaching profit and sustainability rules.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Mail Sport reported that the club had until close of play on Friday to lodge the appeal, which they duly did before the deadline passed.<\/p>\n<p>The Premier League has previously stated that it will be heard before the end of the 2023\/24 campaign.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/01\/12\/78468075-0-image-a-145_1701434620056.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Everton have\u00a0confirmed that they have lodged an official appeal with the Premier League<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/01\/13\/78469105-12814239-image-a-10_1701436175326.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The club were handed a 10-point deduction which sent them down to second-bottom in table<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Everton run the risk of suffering another points deduction if they are found to have breached spending rules in their next set of accounts, which are set to be submitted by December 31.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The accounts will cover the 2022\/23 season, and under new regulations brought in by the Premier League last season, reports suggest that financial breaches will be fast-tracked and dealt with before before the season&#8217;s close.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Manager Dyche was insistent on Thursday that he hadn&#8217;t heard anything about additional penalties, but suggested that the surprise nature of the deduction had thrown a blueprint out of the window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We were stunned, I think football was stunned, by the outcome of the 10 points (deduction) so who knows what comes next?&#8217; Dyche told reporters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The way it is sounding from the noise out there it is not just about us, there will be others looked at possibly over time. We will have to wait and see.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The recent facts of what happened I think we park and move forward but we won&#8217;t start worrying about ifs, buts and maybes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The 10 points currently aren&#8217;t there so we have to see through the rest of it and crack on.
