DRIVERS have been warned heavy rain is set to lash roads today as 50mph winds batter the coast. <\/p>\n
The Met Office has forecast a gloomy Monday as wet and windy conditions threaten to cause transport disruption. <\/p>\n

Forecasters have confirmed weather alerts for heavy showers are in force for areas across the country. <\/p>\n
Experts advised residents to be cautious as they are braced for "wet commutes" and "poor driving conditions".<\/p>\n
The Met Office said: "Winds will once again pick up across the southwest overnight with gales possible near the coast and over the hills.<\/p>\n
"Poor driving conditions are possible especially when combined with some heavy rain at times."<\/p>\n
