SAY goodbye to stinky fridge odor and hello to a recycling item that will get rid of those all too familiar funky smells.

A cleaning expert wants to save others from the stink with her cheap method – but she warned that it has to be carried out the right way.

"Ninety-nine percent of people do this wrong," said Julia Jolie (@therealjoliajolie).

She scrunched up her nose and exaggeratedly waved her hand as she looked around the fridge.

Julia herself was not immune to those unpleasant and pungent odors – but she did have a smell-repellant trick up her sleeve.

"Stinky refrigerator? Simply place a newspaper in the fridge," she advised.

She folded up the paper twice before placing it on the back of the shelves.

"A newspaper is a great odor eater," explained Julia of the easy and affordable trick.

And this smell be gone sorceress had yet another secret.

"Works with stinky shoes too," she said.

The travel-loving DIY expert had certainly made the day of non-funky-smelling fridge fans.

"Girl I have learned so much from you! This one is by far the best hack for me! Much love," one follower profusely shared her gratitude.

"Never would have thought of that!" shared a surprised viewer.

"Really? Wow," said another shocked watcher.

Yet another follower had her own tip: "I also put newspaper on the bottom of my kitchen trash can to absorb smells."

According to the University of Nebraska food program, going this extra step can also eliminate even the strongest of odors.

Just set a cup of water on the top shelf or sprinkle the newspaper with water.

Then allow the refrigerator to run for approximately five or six days.

Though more time-consuming, this will help air out even the most lingering of smells.

</picture>DOUBLE TROUBLE
