But Sam Quek has told how she has spent years struggling with ‘mum guilt’ \u2013 a term she is urging other mothers to banish.<\/p>\n
The former sportswoman, 35, whose children are Molly, two, and Zac, one, said the negativity surrounding the popular phrase makes mothers feel that they are not good enough.<\/p>\n
Some 95 per cent of UK mothers experience ‘mum guilt’, according to research by supplements company Haliborange.<\/p>\n
The term refers to the emotions many mothers have when going back to work after having a baby and feeling like they are not spending enough time at home.<\/p>\n

Ms Quek who is now a team captain on BBC’s A Question of Sport, said she does not ‘regret’ going back to work two months after giving birth to Zac last year but faced judgment from the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But she told the Mail: ‘[Some] 95 per cent of UK mums suffer from mum guilt on a daily basis, that’s a huge number and mum guilt isn’t what I think is a very positive conversation.<\/p>\n
‘It tends to be things that you haven’t done, what you need to do, what you could have done better.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘I was one of them and we all have this in common.’<\/p>\n
Ms Quek launched a TV career after winning a gold medal as a member of England’s hockey squad at Rio 2016.<\/p>\n
