Since then, nothing has gone beyond three months. But lockdown made me realise I was lonely, so I\u2019ve been on a few first dates recently.<\/p>\n<p><span>Pre-Date Nerves?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Of course \u2014 I\u2019d be lying if I said otherwise. He\u2019ll enjoy keeping fit and healthy, and won\u2019t be old before his time<\/p>\n<p><span>First Impressions?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dutch definitely doesn\u2019t look his age. He arrived looking very dapper in a Panama hat and a lovely patterned shirt. He\u2019s slim and tall at 5 ft 11 in. We both complimented one another on our outfits, and it wasn\u2019t awkward at all.<\/p>\n<p><span>Easy To Talk To?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The waiter taking our order had to return a couple of times because we were so busy chatting. We talked about Dutch\u2019s two sons, one of whom got married last month, while the other son married last year.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re both walkers, although Dutch plans his, with a rucksack and flask, whereas I like to stop at a pub or cafe en route.<\/p>\n<p>He rescued a cat during lockdown \u2014 Finn was found with all his legs broken after being dropped off a tower block. Since then, he has gone from not trusting humans to sleeping on Dutch\u2019s bed.<\/p>\n<p>To me, Dutch is a hero for taking Finn in, and the more he talked about his cat the more I found I liked him.<\/p>\n<p><span>Embarrassing Moments?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Not really, although Dutch told our waiter we were on a blind date and he offered to act as wingman for both of us. Sweetly, at the end of his shift, he came to say goodbye.<\/p>\n<p><span>Did Sparks Fly?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I instantly liked Dutch as he walked to the table. But I was too nervous to actively flirt with him.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/27\/19\/75906043-12567429-image-a-2_1695840792023.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Viv says she instantly liked Dutch when she saw him approaching the able, but she was too nervous to flirt with him\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>See him again?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yes. Dutch is one of those gentle humans who is genuinely intelligent and funny. We went for a walk after our lunch. As we parted, we exchanged a hug and a kiss on the cheek. We\u2019ve been in touch via messages and phone calls since, but not yet arranged to meet up.<\/p>\n<p><span>What do you think he thought of you?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I think Dutch liked me. I was impressed that she had chosen a profession in which she is dedicated to helping people feel better; it says a lot about her.<\/p>\n<p>We both love animals and walking in the woods. I told Viv about my rescue cat Finn. He was so angry and resentful at first, and I don\u2019t blame him. I had to remind myself to shut up and let Viv talk. I flirted with her by deliberately making good eye contact, smiling, complimenting and saying I\u2019d like to do this again. I also found silly little things to make her smile because Viv has a lovely smile.
