THOUSANDS of London Underground workers are set to strike in the coming weeks, it has been announced.<\/p>\n
The RMT Union confirmed its members would walk out for two days as part of their ongoing battle with TfL over pay and conditions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The strikes are set to affect the network between October 4 and October 6.<\/p>\n
Union officials cited "safety concerns" and a dispute over job losses as the main factors in the latest industrial action.<\/p>\n
They said that the laying off of 600 employees had led to "detrimental working conditions", including dangerous workloads and increased fatigue.<\/p>\n
An estimated 3,500 members are expected to be involved in the walkouts.<\/p>\n

It is likely to severely disrupt Tube services across the capital.<\/p>\n
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: "Station staff have had enough of having their livelihoods threatened by job losses and attacks on their terms and conditions.<\/p>\n
"Station staff have a vital role to play assisting vulnerable passengers access the network safely and ensuring that the tube is a safe environment for passengers.<\/p>\n
"These job cuts and attacks on conditions are going to lead to more unstaffed stations, temporary closures and rising passenger anger.<\/p>\n
