Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has opened up about her heartbreaking family loss following the death of her beloved pet pooch.<\/p>\n
The 47-year-old soap star shared a poignant image of her dog’s ashes in a personalised cremation box on Instagram.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She wrote the touching caption: “The boy is home\u2026.. thank you so much to @vets_now Huyton for taking such good care of my beautiful Barney in his final hours and for treating us as a family with such care and compassion.<\/p>\n
“Losing Barney has left a huge paw shaped hole in our lives and he will be missed always.<\/p>\n
“We love you Barney boy. You\u2019re home now.” She also posted on her Instagram story alongside several crying face emojis: “My boy is home! Best dog in the world. Sleep tight Barney.”<\/p>\n

We will miss you so much mate. Best dog ever. My heart is broken.”<\/p>\n Many of her followers were quick to send their heartfelt condolences. One person typed: “Oh Barney, what a lovely boy. Thinking of you all. Xx.”<\/p>\n A second fan commented: “Oh I\u2019m so sorry, what a gorgeous boy. Sending love to you all,” completed with a heart emoji.<\/p>\n A third chimed in: “Oh no! He was so lovely! My heart is breaking for you. More info<\/p>\n The devestating news comes shortly after Kym’s marriage to husband Scott Ratcliff ended in March.<\/p>\n Kym and Scott married in October 2021 in a star-studded bash, but the pair called it quits after just 19 months of marriage, according to claims.<\/p>\n According to The Mirror, the couple reportedly split due to “work commitments” and tried to fight for their relationship despite seeing each other for only one or two days a week.<\/p>\n Kym seemingly addressed the split for the first time in an interview with The Guardian, as she touched on “resilience” she has learned following her failed marriages.<\/p>\n Scott was Kym’s third husband after she previously tied the knot with soap actor Jack Ryder in 2002 and Hollyoaks icon Jamie Lomas in 2012.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/79\/590x\/secondary\/4959365.jpg?r=1694690511504\")
