<\/p>\nWe all wish we could glam up our homes now and then, but it's never a cheap process.<\/p>\n
Bathrooms are often rooms that get left feeling outdated, as they're often full of colours and tiles we hate.<\/p>\n
One savvy DIYer recently decided to makeover her bathroom on a budget \u2013 and the results are super impressive.<\/p>\n

Gilda-Maria Sidonio, 50, from Kent, works as a traffic officer, but has been putting her skills to use in her spare time.<\/p>\n
She told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk she had wanted to give the room a makeover for a while.<\/p>\n
To her, it felt "cold and bare" as it comprised of grey vinyl flooring, grey and white walls and white tiles.<\/p>\n

Gilda-Maria said: "It looked the same as countless bathrooms across the UK and I wanted it to stand out, so finally I decided to take the time to give it a completely new look.<\/p>\n
"When I was thinking about ideas for the space there weren\u2019t any particular patterns or themes that I followed. <\/p>\n
"I wanted to have a mixture of textures and a feeling of warmth and cocooning in this small space so that it was inviting and cosy.<\/p>\n
"My love for natural materials, texture and recycling inspired the supplies I ended up getting and the overall feel of the room now is warm and inviting with a touch of industrial.<\/p>\n
"I shopped all over for the supplies. I got Crown Suede textured emulsion paint in the shade Taupe from Homebase in a clearance sale for just \u00a38. Usually a tin of 2.5 litres would have cost \u00a328 so I saved \u00a320."<\/p>\n

The wooden wall tiles came from Facebook Marketplace for just \u00a345, and they would have cost \u00a3350 at full price, but the seller had leftover supplies so she got a good deal.<\/p>\n
Then she picked up the mirror back wall from eBay for \u00a315, and the mirror cabinet above the sink cost \u00a340 from an independent trader in Tonbridge. <\/p>\n
She wanted to upgrade the sink as well so she bought one from a friend for \u00a335, as it was unwanted.<\/p>\n
The floor tiles were picked up for \u00a340 from Facebook Marketplace, and there was enough to do both this room and the upstairs bathroom. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the light fixture was \u00a340 from Habitat, and the shelf was just \u00a310 from H&M.<\/p>\n
Gilda-Maria already had the photos, but she picked up the frames from an Eleanor Bowmer sale on eBay, and they cost between \u00a32 and \u00a35 each as they were half price.<\/p>\n

"I started off by ripping up the vinyl floor tiles with a floor scraper," she added.<\/p>\n
"Then I replaced the sink \u2013 this was easier to do than I thought as there are plenty of YouTube tutorials online.<\/p>\n
"I then installed the wall tiles using adhesive and grout. I hadn\u2019t tiled before, but I managed to get an electric tile cutter for free from a friend which made the job a lot easier.<\/p>\n
"One obstacle was figuring out how to tackle the pipes. I wanted to create an industrial look, but installing copper pipes would be incredibly expensive.<\/p>\n
"The yellow glossed pipes looked unsightly, so I chose to paint them in a copper effect rather than hide them – I wanted to show them off.<\/p>\n
"Once the bigger jobs were complete I was able to hang up the photo frames, install the mirror cabinet and add finishing touches such as lighting and greenery.<\/p>\n
"This job took a couple of weekends to complete but I\u2019m really happy with the results. <\/p>\n
"I\u2019ve managed to save over \u00a3300 by shopping around for good bargains and the transformation is really dramatic."<\/p>\n
