Woman, 81, left fighting for life after being viciously attacked by another resident in East London care home

AN elderly woman was left fighting for her life in hospital after being attacked by another resident at her care home.

The 81-year-old is understood to have sustained a serious head injury during the attack, which took place in South East London on Saturday.


Cops said they were called to a residential care home in Queens Road, SE15, at around 9.30pm on Saturday after an elderly resident was attacked and assaulted by another resident.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "The 81-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where she remains. Her condition is being treated as life-threatening.

"Her next of kin have been informed.

"Detectives from the Central South Command Unit are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances."

Police believe they have identified the other resident concerned in the incident and are not looking for anyone else.

No arrests have been made.

Officers previously told Southwark News that the alleged attacker has been identified, and “being cared for”.
