TODAY'S Wordle answer is out.

But what does the word 'trove' mean?

What does trove mean?

The word comes from being associated with treasure, in the phrase 'treasure trove'.

But a trove can mean a valuable collection of objects. For example, "a rare trove of documents."

The word comes the French trouvé meaning found, in the context of "treasure found."

Wordle is a web-based word game developed by Welsh-born software engineer Josh Wardle.

The former Reddit employee created the game during lockdown for himself and his wife.

Players have six attempts to guess a five-letter word.

When inputting words, tiles will change colour to help deduce what the word could be.

Orange tiles indicate a letter that is in the word but in the wrong place.

Green tiles show you've got the right letter and positioning.

If a tile goes grey, it isn't in the word and will be marked on the game's onscreen keyboard.

There is a daily challenge for players to solve with statistics totalled up and shown at the end of each game showing your previous number of guess attempts.

What were the Wordle clues for trove?

The clues were that with the letter began T and ended with the letter E.

There are two vowels in today’s Wordle word.

Another clue was that it can be associated with treasure.

Wordle solutions have been known to cause a stir on social media.

Twitter users take to the site to discuss the not-so-funny spelling of a day's word.

Answers such as 'humor' disgruntle some players for using the American spelling of the word.

An earlier puzzle on January 12, 2022 caused similar outrage for ditching the U in Favour, with Favor being the day's answer.
