UK's biggest breakfast sandwich is 1ft tall, weighs 5lbs and packs 4,000 caloriesJanuary 7, 2021
A CAFE is serving up Britain’s biggest breakfast sandwich — which is 1ft tall.
The multi-layered full English super-sarnie weighs more than 5lbs, with 4,000 calories packed in.
Big Dave’s Cafe owner Dave Blackburn, 48, says it has five sausages, five bacon rashers, five eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms — plus a selection of black pudding, haggis, hash browns or all three.
His Breakfast Challenge Sandwich in Bromsgrove, Worcs, is free to those who can eat it.
But they have 40 minutes to scoff it all or fork out £20.
Dave said: “It’s the dream sandwich for any English breakfast lover.
“But I couldn’t eat it all. Not even close. My advice is come hungry because you won’t leave hungry.”
So far, 80 have attempted it — including Phil Wastell — but only six have managed it in six years.
If you’re not full…
A VEGAN doughnut said to be an official first will be sold at Tesco this week.
Jazzy Jam Doughnut’s production lines are deep cleaned each run to avoid animal contaminations.
Andy Bingham, creator of the eggless treats, said: “We’ve been flat out.”
