Two-year-old girl is raped and murdered at Oklahoma hotel before body is left floating in pool

THE body of a two-year-old girl has been found raped and murdered at an Oklahoma hotel.

The toddler, identified as Caliyah J Guyton by Enid police, was discovered floating in a pool with shorts around her neck.

Michael S Geiger, 51, has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree rape, kidnapping and burglary in connection with the death of the girl, reports KFOR-TV.

Rescue crews were called at around 1.45am Thursday to the Grand Prairie Motel in Enid, Oklahoma, following a report of a drowning.

By the time medics arrived, the girl had been removed from the pool and was unresponsive.

She was rushed to the area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to KWTV.

Caliyah had orange shorts around her neck and appeared to have suffered injuries consistent with sexual assault, reports say.

First responder are said to have found keys in the shorts which belonged to two rooms which had been booked by Geiger, who had arrived at the hotel a day earlier.

According to court documents seen by the TV station, investigators believe Geiger met the girl and her family at the pool and had offered the child “chips or candy”.

Caliyah and her grandfather went to sleep in the family’s hotel room hours later and her parents met with Geiger in one of his rooms to “hang out together,” with the evidence suggesting methamphetamine and alcohol were consumed, the TV station reports.

At some point, Geiger reportedly offered to pay $5,000 to Caliyah’s mom, Chelsea Guyton, to “spend 24 hours with him,” the court documents say, according to the report.

Chelsea Guyton declined, but she and her partner are said to have found a woman who agreed to spend time with Geiger, and left the hotel to find the woman.

Geiger was then seen at around 11.47pm leaving the hotel while wearing gloves and grasping a pillowcase.

Finding his behaviour strange, a hotel clerk alerted a maintenance worker who went to investigate and saw Geiger walking away from his room with what appeared to be a doll.

Following the discovery of Caliyah’s body, police searched Geiger’s rooms and found “a very bloody scene,” according to the court records seen by KFOR-TV.

Authorities believe that Geiger could have attempted to lure Caliyah to the room, which had gummy worms on the bed, juice bottles and cartoons on the television.

Geiger was found on the roof of the hotel by cops after a seven-hour search.

He reportedly had blood on his body and hands.

According to the TV station, Geiger had been released from prison in March this year after serving a 10-year sentence for kidnapping.
