Scout Barbour-Evans, 23, from New Zealand, plans to “chest feed” their “perfect baby” who arrived on Wednesday.

Scout was born as a female, but prefers to be referred to as ‘they’ and ‘their’ instead of ‘he’ or ‘she’.

They insist they will “chest feed” the baby, but fears giving too many details may “spark questions”, Stuff reported.

Expressing their joy of giving birth, Scout tweeted: “It was pretty magic but very fast and rough on my body. Even if I’d wanted a hospital birth I wouldn’t have managed to get there.”

Scout conceived the baby via a sperm donor, and tried hard to hide the pregnancy, but it became difficult when they were forced to stop taking testosterone medication.

They later told Stuff, they planned do not plan to raise the baby with gender neutral pronouns.

Scout added: “”I don’t like the word neutral to describe my gender.

“I don’t want to expose my child to that in any way.”
