RAPPER Tay K looks completely unrecognisable as he shares photos from prison, three years after he was convicted for murder.

The young rapper who shot to fame with his hit "The Race" was imprisoned in 2017 after he was found guilty of murder and aggravated robbery.

Tay K who was just 19 at the time, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murder charge, an additional 30 years for one count of aggravated robbery and a further two 13-year sentences for the other aggravated robbery charges.

The rapper, who turned 22, on Thursday, June 16, shared some birthday snaps of himself behind bars as fans took it to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

The rapper whose real name is Taymor Travon McIntyre, was born on June 16, 2000 in Long Beach, California.

His career started when he was just 14 as part of the Arlington-based rap group Daytona Boyz, alongside rappers Santana Sage and Pimpyz.

"The Race" debuted at number 70 on the US Billboard Hot 100 after a huge hashtag campaign "#FREETAYK" demanded his release from jail.

The rapper got involved in a major criminal incident in July 2016, when he was arrested on capital murder charges alongside six others following the home invasion of a dealer in Mansfield, Texas.

However, the robbery turned wrong and Ethan Walker was killed.
