Mum-of-six accidentally dyes her parents’ dog bright pink with her kids’ paint and can’t get it out after TWELVE washes – The SunFebruary 12, 2020
A MUM accidentally died her parents' dog bright pink – and can't get it out after 12 washes.
Treana Richards got a bit of paint on the Bichon Frise Benji while getting creative with her kids last week.
The mum-of-six panicked and scrubbed at the dog's fur, but only managed to spread it further.
She and her children incited Benji into the shower for a deep clean, but failed to get the widespread pink to wash out.
Treana, from Martock, Somerset, said: "He was so pink – it was ridiculous.
"The baby was running around shouting 'Look, pink dog! Peppa Pig!' It was so funny.
"He's been washed about 12 times now. We tried to get him under the shower and rinse it off, but it was just spreading more.
"If he stays that pink for a couple of months longer, we can dress him up with the kids for Easter.
"He's a very clean dog now, we won't ever forget this, it'll be a good memory."
She confessed over the phone to 73-year-old parents John and Carol Richards – leaving her mum in hysterics.
'HE WAS SO PINK'
They now have to wait until his fur grows out enough to cut all the pink off.
Treana, 35, said: "My parents were due back within hours [of it happening]. I left them a message saying you need to call me immediately'.
"When they got back everyone looked serious thinking something really bad had happened – then I had to explain I'd just dyed the dog pink.
"My mum saw the funny side but Dad's not seeing that – he's quite straight-laced.
"The first thing my dad said was 'oh god, what have they done to you?' He said 'I'll have to take him for a walk in the dark now'. My mum just burst out laughing.
"My parents have booked Benji into the groomers on Wednesday as he's still pink."
Last year we told how This Morning viewers were left outraged today by a woman who dyes her dog's hair in multi-coloured styles.
Nicole, who owns a dog salon in Ontario, claims her pet pooch Stella “sulks” if she’s not a bright colour.
Over the years the pup has sported various styles and was even dyed hot pink to match Nicole’s bridesmaids on her wedding day.
