March 2, 2023MACKENZIE Crook’s sister-in-law has been confirmed dead by police after she went missing 11 days ago.
The body of Laurel Aldridge has been formally identified, cops have confirmed.
Laurel, 62, was last seen leaving her home in Walberton, near Arundel, West Sussex, on February 14.
Over the weekend, her family paid tribute to her as a body was discovered in the search for her.
Even though police were unable to formally confirm the identity of the victim, Laurel’s son paid a touching tribute to his late mum and revealed how she “was found lying in a beautiful woodland”.
Mackenzie’s nephew, Matthew Aldridge, said: "She is now at peace."
In a post on Facebook, he wrote: "After a long and exhausting search, today we found Laurel.
"We will miss her every day, but we are so proud of everything she achieved in her 62 years on this earth.
"Laurel was a wonderful, creative, fiercely-intelligent person, who taught us all the meaning of empathy, dependability, and love."
He added: "We as a family are broken by what has happened, but we have each other, we have our friends, and we have the support of the local community, who have so kindly rallied around us during this difficult time. We will never forget what you have done for us.

"For the time being, we are asking for privacy so that we can be together as a family and process our loss."
Police had launched a frantic search for Laurel, who has been undergoing chemotherapy.
Mackenzie, 51, had previously begged for the public's help in finding his sister-in-law.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star said her disappearance was "very out of character".
Speaking to ITV, the actor said: "She left her house early Tuesday morning and she's not been seen since.
"That's in the Walberton area where a lot of people are looking in the local woodlands along the roads and stuff like that.
"I'd really like to appeal to people to go out into their back gardens and have a look in places where she might have taken rest."
Mackenzie, who played Gareth in The Office, said the family is "obviously really worried".
Laurel's son-in-law Charlie Wheeler also issued an appeal after she was last seen leaving her home at around 7.20am.
