Joint Base Andrews 'on lockdown over security alert' moments after Kamala Harris left on Marine Two, reports claim
March 7, 2022THE Joint Base Andrew military facility was apparently on lockdown over a security alert moments after Vice President Kamala Harris left.
According to local reporters at the scene of the base where Air Force One takes off from, guards stopped a shuttle of reporters to check the van.
NPR White House correspondent Scott Detrow said he was told the base was on lockdown “due to reports of an active shooter.”
Detrow and another reporter are in a shuttle van that is being held because of the situation.
“The soldier who searched tells us this is a confirmed armed individual but no shots fired,” wrote Detrow.
“But again this is from someone who just came on our shuttle, not an official statement.”
Zeke Miller, a White House reporter from AP, tweeted that White House officials announced that all Cabinet members are either safe or off the base.
