Girl, 6, Is Killed Along with Mom and Grandmother Before Suspect Allegedly Confessed on Facebook

April 16, 2019

A Florida man wanted by police after the deaths of a 6-year-old girl, her mother and her grandmother turned himself in to police after allegedly confessing to the crimes on Facebook.

Ernest Cherizard, 38, is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Eli Junia Normil and her mother, Nicole Guillume, inside an apartment Friday, Haines City Police Chief Jim Elensky said at a press conference later that day.

Elenksy said Cherizard allegedly shot Normil, 23, before her mother arrived to check on her. When Guillume and Cherizard, 48, began to argue, he allegedly then shot her. Before fleeing the scene in Normil’s Nissan Altima, Cherizard also allegedly shot Normil’s 6-year-old daughter, Elizabelle “Bella” Frenel, three times, once in the head.

“He’s a male, [but] not much of a man to shoot a child and two females. Not much of a man there,” Elensky said Friday.

Hours after the shooting and while police were looking for him, Cherizard allegedly apologized on Facebook, the Miami Herald reports.

“Daddy is so sorry with all my heart cuz I can’t believe this happened,” he wrote, according to the paper.

Bella was not Cherizard’s daughter, but Cherizard and Normil shared two children, reports the Herald.

The following day, Cherizard turned himself in to police. He has been charged with three counts of first degree murder, the Haines City Police Department announced on Twitter.

“What has happened is beyond comprehension and we are all still in shock,” a relative wrote on a GoFundMe page.

Elensky called Cherizard a “monster” for the alleged murders.

“Despite his indicated remorse, make no mistake about it — this man is a monster,” he said in a news release, the Herald reports. “To consciously shoot three innocent, unarmed females is nothing less than being a coward. To shoot a truly innocent 6-year-old child is disgusting and beyond comprehension. Moreover, he shot the child at least three times, once being in the head. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the first responders who did everything they could at the scene. They also must live with this tragedy.”

Cherizard appeared in court on Monday. He has not entered a plea and attorney information for him was not immediately available Tuesday.

He remains behind bars and will be arraigned next month, CBS Miami reports.
