Evil husband admits killing wife just days after their wedding & stuffing her body in a suitcase – but DENIES murder

April 21, 2022

AN EVIL husband has admitted killing his newly-wed bride before stuffing her body in a suitcase and dumping it on playing fields – but DENIES murdering her.

Scrap man Thomas Nutt, 46, inflicted fatal injuries on his bride Dawn Walker, 52, just days after their marriage.

A court heard Dawn, a mother and grandmother, suffered ‘multiple blows’ a ‘significant area of bruising to the scalp’.

There were also signs of strangulation.

Dawn died in the marital home, on Shirley Grove, Lightcliffe, near Halifax, West Yorkshire, some time between October 27 and October 31, 2021.

This means she could have been killed on her wedding night.

This morning, at Bradford Crown Court, Nutt pleaded not guilty to her murder, but guilty of her manslaughter.

Nutt has denied murdering his wife.

He will stand trial for murder on July 25 – it is due to last two weeks.

The body of Dawn was discovered stuffed into the travel luggage in bushes by a member of the public at around 3pm on Halloween.

The bag was discovered only 200 yards from their red-brick semi.

The couple got engaged in January 2020.

A local man, who was a wedding guest at Halifax Register Office, said: "The wedding was at 2.30pm and then the reception was at a pub and lasted all night – that was Wednesday.”

A handful of guests attended the wedding and then joined the happy couple at the Prince Albert pub – known locally as the Pop In- for a low key reception.

Dawn and Nutt had known each other for a long time but a few years ago started their romance.

Dawn’s sister Lisa Walker posted on Facebook: "My heart is truly broken."

Bradford Crown Court heard Nutt has suffered a burst hernia in prison and requires an operation.

He is currently on morphine which may effect his concentration and ability to sit for long periods.

Following Miss Walker's death, her family released a statement saying: "We write this with a very heavy heart that yesterday we lost a loving daughter, mother, nanna, sister, auntie and friend.

"In circumstances beyond our control, you were taken from us so suddenly."
