Air ambulance called to 'serious incident' at holiday park amid stabbing reportJuly 31, 2021
POLICE and air ambulances have responded to "a serious incident" at a Welsh holiday park amid reports of a stabbing.
The scene in Parkdean's Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn, North Wales, has since been cordoned off amid chaotic scenes this afternoon.
According to local reports, an air ambulance landed close to the park on the A548 around 3.30pm, with the road shut in both directions.
Eyewitnesses also say two ambulances along with three rapid response vehicles and three police cars near to caravans were on the scene which is now taped off.
However, North Wales Police have confirmed there is no threat to the wider public.
In a tweet, the force said: "Officers are attending a serious incident at a Holiday Park near Abergele. Investigations are ongoing. Apologies for any difficulty.
"There is no threat to the public but please stay away as we deal with the incident. Thanks for your patience."
A park spokesperson is assisting police in operations as the investigation continues into the incident.
They said: "There has been an incident at the park and our team are assisting the police. It would be inappropriate to comment further."
Photos have now emerged showing people lining the streets after the air ambulance landed in the middle of the road.
A holidaymaker who is staying in a caravan near to the scene, said she was stuck in traffic as the emergency services first arrived.
The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Mirror: "They have taped everywhere off now around the caravans and blocked the gaps with vans so you can't see through the gaps."
Other eyewitnesses have said there were two ambulances and three rapid response vehicles, as well as three police cars in attendance.
The air ambulance was reported to have left the scene by around 4.10pm.
The Welsh Ambulance Service are unable to provide any more details at present, only that they responded with multiple vehicles.
The Sun has contacted police for further comment.
