A 76-year-old woman who survived a seven-story fall from her Upper East Side apartment was likely saved by a storage bin and a pile of veggies, her friend told The Post Sunday.

Barbara Heller plummeted to the ground Friday after falling out of the window of her one-bedroom apartment on East 81st Street, according to pal Kelli Blue.

“I opened the window about a foot for her and she opened it the rest of the way,” said Blue, 40. “She leaned over and fell into a plastic storage bin and then bounced to a pallet of fruits and vegetables.”

Blue said she rushed from the kitchen with Heller’s dog, “Papi Chulo,” when she “heard the crash.”

“I saw her laying on the sidewalk,” she said. “I was terrified, and I thought she was dead. She was trying to push herself off the sidewalk.”

Heller broke both her hips, three ribs, and her left ankle, and is scheduled for surgery Monday, Blue said.

But she doesn’t remember the fall, Blue said.
