  • A flat in Notting Hill Gate, west London, is on rental market for £1,870 a month
  • The room measures 12 square metres and has an oven just a few feet from bed
  • Estate agent Scraye praised its high ceilings’ and an ‘open plan kitchen’

A tiny flat in west London with an oven just a few feet from the bed has been placed on the rental market for £1,870 a month.

The room – which is just 12 square metres – does not even have its own toilet.

Described grandly as having ‘high ceilings’ and an ‘open plan kitchen’, pictures show a double bed, a small desk, a TV and a tiny stove unit in a sparse room.

The kitchen includes two hob rings, a microwave in a cupboard unit and a tiny sink.

There is also a double plug socket and the advert says there is a freezer, although this is not visible.

There also appears to be a small roof terrace, although this seems to be mostly blocked off by metal railings

Less than five minutes walk from Notting Hill Station, the flat is in a prime spot with links into the centre of London

Scraye, who are marketing the studio flat on Rightmove, called it: ‘A lovely studio flat in Notting Hill Gate.

‘The rent includes access to a variety of convenient amenities like shared laundry rooms, and pets allowed for an additional £25pcm.

‘The flat itself has high ceilings and wood floors, and comes with an open-plan kitchen, and shared bathroom.

‘The wifi and council tax are included in the rent in addition to utilities that are subject to a fair usage cap.’

Less than five minutes walk from Notting Hill Station, the flat is in a prime spot with links into the centre of London.

But the third floor pad leaves a lot to be desired with only a small corridor left between the bed and the wall to reach the table and kitchen.

There is a large window with a small radiator beneath, letting lots of light into the small room.

There also appears to be a small roof terrace, although this seems to be mostly blocked off by metal railings.

The bathroom and laundry facilities are shared between tenants.

And any renters can have pets for another £25 a month – taking the price of the room up to £1,895 per month or £22,500 a year.
