ACTRESS Rose Ayling-Ellis is taking to to the dancefloor for Strictly Come Dancing 2021.
The EastEnders star will also be making history as the BBC One show's first ever deaf contestant.
Who is Rose Ayling-Ellis?
Rose, 26, is quickly becoming a familiar face on our TV screens, known best for her role as Frankie Lewis in EastEnders, which she began playing in 2020.
Before that, the actress starred in Summer Of Rockets and award-winning short film The End.
She also starred on Casualty, where she played Bianca Sinclair.
Rose hopes to challenge misconceptions about the deaf community, as she takes to the floor as the first ever deaf contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking about joining Strictly, she said: "I hope I will do the deaf community proud and break down more barriers.
"But I am also very excited to learn an incredible new skill and, even better, I get to learn whilst wearing beautiful dresses made especially for me."
While the inclusion of a deaf contestant is a first for Strictly Come Dancing in the UK, its US equivalent Dancing With The Stars has already paved the way forward.
In 2016, America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 winner Nyle DiMarco became the first deaf contestant ever to win the show, following in the footsteps of deaf actress Marlee Matlin, who competed in 2008.
Who is Rose Ayling-Ellis's boyfriend?
Rose and her unnamed boyfriend of approximately seven years generally like to keep their relationship out of the public eye.
She will share the occasional snap with him on social media, however, posting pictures of their adventures travelling through Peru and the Amazon River to her Instagram account.
OK! magazine reported on the couple spending their six-year anniversary together after Rose posted a picture of the pair with the cute caption: “6 years we been together and I still don’t find you annoying.”
