SALLY Lindsay became a household name thanks to her role as Shelley Unwin in Coronation Street.

And now the actress is showing off a new skill in a TV special of Celebrity Bake Off 2019 for SU2C. Get the full lowdown here…

Who is Sally Lindsay?

Sally Lindsay is an actress who originally studied to become a journalist at the University of Hull.

However, she was cast in a play and developed a love for acting and comedy, which led to a friendship with Peter Kay at the age of 24.

The pair worked together on the sitcom, Phoenix Nights, before Sally went on to join Coronation Street in 2001.

Sally married drummer Steve White in 2013, and the pair have twin boys named Vic and Louie.

Is Sally Lindsay still in Coronation Street?

Sally Lindsay starred as Shelly Unwin in Coronation Street from 2001 -2006.

When asked in 2016, if she would be keen to reprise her role, she admitted that she would "never say never".

She's since gone on to play Mrs. Agnes in Still Open All Hours as well as having roles in Mount Pleasant, Citizen Khan and Ordinary Lies.

In September 2011, Sally become a permanent panellist on Loose Women but went back to being an occasional guest from March 2014.

When does Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C start?

The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off airs every Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.

The five episode series kicked off on March 5, 2019.

Sarah is competing against the likes of  presenter Jeremy Paxman, Joe Wilkinson and Georgia Toffolo.

Rylan Clark-Neal and Our Girl's Michelle Keegan have also appeared on the show with the latter going on to be crowned Star Baker.

The special will be have the usual host and judges – Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
