JOSH O'Connor is an award-winning British actor best known for his work in God's Own Country and The Durrells.
Netflix has confirmed the rising star will be playing a young Prince Charles in The Crown, for what is set to be a key period in the Prince of Wales' history, but what else do we know about the actor?
What has Josh O'Connor said about The Crown season three?
Josh will play Prince Charles in the upcoming third and fourth seasons of The Crown, covering the years 1964-1970 when Charles was aged between 16 and 22.
Speaking about portraying Prince Charles, he told The Hollywood Reporter: "I am thrilled to be joining The Firm for the next instalment of The Crown.
"Seasons three and four will follow some of the most turbulent events in the Prince of Wales' life and our national story, and I'm excited to be bringing to life the man in the midst of it all."
Josh added: "I'm very aware it's a formidably talented family to be joining but reliably informed I have the ears for the part and will fit right in."
When is The Crown season three available on Netflix?
The Crown series three will be available on Netflix from Sunday November 17.
And it's thought there won't be a long wait for a season four either.
Showrunner Peter Morgan did reveal that seasons three and four would be filmed back to back which may delay the release of season three until 2019.
Olivia Coleman will play the role of Queen Elizabeth II – taking over from Claire Foy and Helena Bonham Carter will succeed Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.
Why is Josh O'Connor famous?
Josh, 28, was born on May 20, 1990, and is an English actor.
He is best known for his portrayal of Johnny Saxby in the 2017 film God's Own Country, directed by Francis Lee, for which he won a British Independent Film Award for Best Actor.
The star is also well-loved for playing Lawrence on ITV hit show The Durrells.
But he has also had roles as PC Bobby Grace on Ripper Street and as Ada's housemates James in Peaky Blinders.
